This year we have added some new growing locations. One that we are very excited about is our Caterpillar tunnel. This tunnel will aid us in extending our season, so we can plant earlier in spring and longer throughout the winter. This structure provides a protected covered area. We purchased our tunnel through a great company called Farmers Friends LLC, they provide everything needed with easy-to-follow instructions for set up.
Right now we have Pac Choi, Romaine, Iceberg lettuce, Lettuce Mix, and Elegance mix planted inside. We will soon be adding flowers and herbs around the outside of the tunnel to attract pollinators. During the warmer days and months, we are able to raise the sides up high enough to get airflow. When it gets cold again this will be a great area for us to plant crops like Kale, Broccoli, Spinach, and much more.
